Hi Enterprise Network,
I was working with a customer earlier this week and wanted to share a quick win/feature for your teams.
It's always a great idea to maintain a clear audit trail for accountability and compliance. Airtable's built-in revision history provides a comprehensive record of changes made to your base, allowing you to track who made what changes and when. Here's how you can leverage this feature effectively:
- Enable Revision History: Ensure that revision history is enabled. Click on base history next to the help icon located at the top navigation of your base. You'll then click record revision history and toggle on "show history in expanded records".
- Track Changes Across Fields: Utilize revision history to track changes across different fields. This is particularly useful for sensitive data or when multiple team members are collaborating on the same records.
- Granular Time Stamps: Benefit from granular time stamps that show when each change was made. This level of detail is valuable for compliance purposes and provides a timeline of activities within your base.
- Identify Contributors: Easily identify contributors by reviewing the revision history log. This helps in recognizing team members responsible for specific changes and facilitating communication and accountability.
- Rollback to Previous Versions: In case of errors or unintended changes, use the "Rollback to this version" option in the revision history to restore your base to a previous state. This feature is a powerful safety net for critical data.
- Exporting Revision History: For external reporting or compliance documentation, you can export the revision history for a specific record or the entire base, providing a comprehensive overview of changes over time.
By actively utilizing the revision history feature, your team can maintain transparency, meet compliance requirements, and enhance accountability.
✅Share your biggest save 👏 from setting up Revision History or something that you could have avoided 😥 if you had set it up.
