Hey there! I work on our Integration Engineering team at Airtable and we’re really excited to announce the launch of two new external sync integrations from the Extensibility team: Snowflake & Workday!
Both Snowflake & Workday have become critical sources of truth for enterprise businesses, but often require robust planning, development and coordination to integrate data from these platforms.
In the past, my team has partnered closely with Airtable’s enterprise customers to design custom integrations for these platforms and can speak first-hand to the complexities that can come with projects like this. If you’re interested in seeing these custom examples we’ve open-sourced, you can view them here.
But now, with Airtable’s new external sync integrations, it’s possible to seamlessly connect to these platforms, sync in your critical data, and connect it to existing workflows built in Airtable, all with no-code. These sync integrations, paired with our verified data feature, can elevate and democratize critical business data to a wide-array of users and teams.
Let’s look at examples of how each integration works and some relevant use-cases:
Snowflake
Airtable’s Snowflake Sync allows you to sync up to 100,000 rows of a Snowflake view (saved query) or table as an Airtable table. Like other syncs, it can be refreshed manually or automatically (every 6 hours).
To connect, you’ll need to get in touch with both your Airtable admin and Snowflake account admin. We use OAuth to connect to Snowflake, so after this one-time configuration, all users within your organization will be able to connect to Snowflake from Airtable.
Once you’ve connected your Snowflake account, similar to other external sync integrations, you can begin to create a synced table in your Airtable base:

Some common use-cases for integrating Snowflake and Airtable are:
- Automated Workflows: Trigger automated workflows in Airtable based on data changes or thresholds in Snowflake. For example, when inventory levels in Snowflake fall below a certain point, an automated restocking task could be created in Airtable.
- Project Management and Tracking: Use Airtable to manage projects or track progress, pulling in relevant data from Snowflake. For example, in a software development project, Airtable could be used to track issues or features, with data about usage or bugs coming from Snowflake.
- Custom CRMs and ERPs: Build custom CRM or ERP systems in Airtable that are powered by the extensive data stored in Snowflake. This allows for a highly customized interface tailored to specific business needs, with the heavy data lifting done by Snowflake.
- Data Dashboards and Reporting: Use Airtable to create user-friendly dashboards that display key metrics and reports from Snowflake. This can be particularly useful for business users who need to access data insights without navigating the complexities of a data warehouse.
- Centralized Data Management: Snowflake can serve as a centralized repository for large-scale data, while Airtable can be used to manage and view subsets of this data. For instance, customer data stored in Snowflake can be selectively displayed and managed in Airtable for marketing or sales purposes.
- Collaborative Data Analysis: Teams can collaborate on data analysis projects using Airtable while relying on the robust and scalable data storage provided by Snowflake. They can add comments, tags, and categorize data in Airtable, which is pulled from Snowflake.
- Data Enrichment and Segmentation: Enrich customer profiles in Airtable by integrating data from Snowflake. This could involve segmentation, scoring, or adding additional metadata to customer records.
Workday
Our Workday sync integration relies on Workday’s Reporting-as-a-service feature, which allows you to enable a report as a web service and retrieve the Workday report as a CSV from a specified Report URL.
Similar to the Snowflake sync, the Workday sync integration allows up to 100,000 records to be imported from a Workday report, and if set to automatically run, will refresh every 6 hours.
All you need to get started is:
- A saved workday report enabled as a web service (CSV)
- A unique identifier column
- Ability to grant access to the report for your Workday Integration System User (ISU) that will have access to all of the data in the report.

Here are some common use-cases for integrating Workday and Airtable:
Employee Information Management: Use Airtable to create a more accessible and user-friendly interface for employee information stored in Workday. This can include contact details, job titles, departments, and more, making it easier for team members to find and use this information.
- Onboarding Process Management: Simplify the employee onboarding process by using Airtable to track the completion of onboarding tasks, documents, and training, while Workday handles the HR and payroll setup for new hires.
- Budgeting and Expense Tracking: Combine financial data from Workday with Airtable to manage department budgets, track expenses, and forecast future costs. Airtable can offer a more visual and interactive way of handling this data.
- Project and Task Management: Link employee data from Workday to project assignments in Airtable. This allows for a clear overview of who is working on what, helps in resource allocation, and tracks project progress in relation to employee roles and capacities.
- Recruitment and Hiring Tracking: Track the entire recruitment process in Airtable, from initial job postings to interviews and hiring decisions. Workday can manage the applicant data, while Airtable is used for scheduling interviews, collecting feedback from interviewers, and tracking the status of candidates.
- Performance Review Management: Use Airtable to organize and track employee performance reviews, setting goals, timelines, and collecting feedback. This data can be integrated with the performance metrics and employee data stored in Workday.
Thank you so much for tuning in! We are constantly making strides to make connecting with Airtable even more seamless. What other use cases do you all use for Snowflake and/or Workday? Are there other integrations that you would like to see?
